Wooden Ships is driven by a husband-and-wife team who were inspired by their backpacking trips to Indonesia and Bali. The company was founded in 1992 and specializes in cool boho-chic women’s knitwear, such as beach sweaters, graphic sweaters, oversized knit sweaters, cozy cardigans, wraps, and more. Wooden ships sweaters are made to order which means they do not produce a lot of stock and they are dedicated to lean production and zero waste. Having been especially moved by the orangutans in Indonesia, Wooden Ships donates to causes such as WildAid and the International Anti-Poaching Foundation.
