Cynthia Ashby studied sculpture and fiber arts in Chicago at the School of Art Institute. Her designs are a collection of modern women’s clothing made from garment dyed fabrics that have rich tones. Over time, these garments fade into a patina similar to that of a metal sculpture. She uses linen, silk, cotton and wool, while shifting the color palette from nature to urban decay and renewal. Her garments are versatile and can be mixed and worn with other pieces of her ongoing collections.
